TransWilts Community Interest Company is a not for profit organisation registered at Companies House No. 9397959. TransWilts seeks to demonstrate and develop the importance of the railway to our local communities and the Wiltshire economy, by promoting improved connectivity between local services and the wider national rail network

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you register to become a Friend or Member of TransWilts, become a volunteer, or if you apply to become a Volunteer or Member of an affiliated User Group or Friend of a Station group. We may also collect information if you voluntarily complete surveys or give feedback. We will only ask for such information as is necessary for the efficient administration of TransWilts and its membership. We do not collect ‘sensitive personal data’ unless there is a legitimate reason for this – for example, where a volunteer may need particular support to be able to participate in an activity.

 

How will we use the information about you?

We collect information about you in order to process membership, manage volunteers at stations and for any other administrative functions of the Community Interest Company.

Access to this data will be restricted to those personnel who administer the membership and activities.

 

Legal Basis

Personal data will not be collected and processed without your unconditional consent or where there is a legitimate interest.

 

Access to your data and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. This can be obtained, without charge, by application to the Community Rail Officer/Secretary (email: secretary@transwilts.org).

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date and all reasonable efforts will be made to ensure this is the case. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.

 

Retention of data

Data may be retained according to TransWilts Data Protection Policy which may be found on our website: www.transwilts.org or by application to the Secretary (as above)

 

Do we share this information with anyone else?

We will not pass collected data to any third party unless required to do so by law.

 

Transfer of data outside the European Economic Area (EEA)

Wherever possible we do not use servers that are based outside the EEA. In the case of an exception, the service provider must adhere to a code of conduct and security that complies with the requirements of the EEA.

 

Website and on-line membership

When you use our on-line membership system your data will be held on a secure server for membership administration. We are required to keep a record of our membership to comply with company law relating to Community interest Companies. The membership secretary will use your data to provide newsletters and notification of membership related meeting such as the AGM.
