THE STATION

Melksham Station’s car parking will expand to 52 parking spaces. Up to 30 minutes car parking is free either at the platform in the short stay spaces or in the Cafe car park. There are designated disabled spaces adjacent to the platform. Motorcyclists can park free of charge in the designated area. (Parking in a car space will incur parking charges.) We are installing lighting and CCTV coverage for both the car park and café areas. Parking charges will be introduced from 31st July.

Competitive Tariffs

We’re pleased to say our flexible parking tariffs are competitive compared to charges at other local stations. Parking is 30p per hour and an annual season ticket provides year round 5-day-a-week parking for £1.60 a day. The ticket machines in both the south and north car parks will take cash and a credit/debit card. We’re installing an Automatic Number plate Recognition Camera (ANPR) system. This will record entry and exit times to check for over-stays.

Pay and park by phone

Parking can also be paid for using the RingGo App. RingGo is particularly handy if you need to extend your parking when a returning train is delayed or cancelled. Cheaper than incurring a parking ticket! Season Tickets are available via RingGo only. Watch here how to pay with RingGo.

Electric Vehicle Charging

We will provide parking spaces for electric car users. This will be strictly reserved for electric car drivers for recharging use only. Read more here.

First phase (Southern Car Park) – due 31st July 2020: 20 parking spaces including 2 EV + motorcycle spaces together with short stay and disabled parking places provided by GWR on their land adjacent to the platform. Second phase (Northern Car Park) – due 31st August 2020: 33 parking spaces including additional 4 EV (subject to demand) and further motorcycle spaces.
